Box Score DODGE CITY, Kan. - The Dodge City Community College women's soccer team had little trouble beating Pratt Community College for the second time this season, scoring 11 goals in the process for the 11-0 victory at Memorial Stadium.
DC3 improved to 4-5 on the year and 2-2 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference while the Beavers fall to 0-9 and 0-4 in conference.
After adjusting to a different style of defense than Pratt played in the first meeting, Dodge City was able to break through in the 26th minute with a goal by
Cynthia Rodela before doubling their lead to 20 just 39 seconds later with
Rawaa Ismail sending a shot into the back of the net. DC3 would score once more with Roselinda adding a goal three minutes before halftime to take a 3-0 lead into intermission.
The second half saw the Conquistadors get two goals from
Begona Rodriguez-Bravo and
Siobhan Longmore while
Joanna Tumbleson,
Dominique Arzaga, Ismail, and
Dayana Cevertus would all add single goals in the second 45 minute period.
Goalies
Emily Goldman (51:54) and
Iliana Alvarado (38:06) split time in net, with the pair combining to shutout Pratt.
Dodge City would hold an impressive 46-1 shots advantage and were awarded the only two corner kicks of the game.
Dodge City will look for another similar result on Saturday when the Conquistadors play host to Northwest Kansas Tech at 5 p.m. Earlier this year in Goodland, Kansas, Dodge City earned a 5-0 win.
