The auxiliary gym is used by several teams as a practice space along with being used to host intramural sports. Also attached as part of the PE building is the DC3 Wellness Center which houses a workout area with cardio machines, dumbbells, and more. (Hours for the Wellness Center - Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-7:30 pm; Friday - 8:00 am-5:30 pm; Summer/Holiday Hours: Monday & Wednesday - 8:00 am-1:00 pm & 4:00-7:00 pm; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 7:30 am-3:30 pm). The building also contains locker rooms for football, men's and women's soccer, and cheer.Â
The main athletic training room is housed in the PE building and features several amenities for student-athlete aid from injury prevention to injury recovery and more.Â
The weight room is housed in the PE building and in 2023 a new weight room was constructed doubling the space of the previous weight room. Weight room space is over 3,400 square feet and features a plethora of equipment, along with a secondary mezzanine level and features custom Dodge City Conquistador athletic graphics.Â
The building has expanded twice in its history - the first expansion was completed in 1980 as the new addition filled in the space between the two original buildings (the area houses athletic offices on the upper floor, and the athletic training room and weight room on the lower floor). The second expansion was in 1988 when an entirely new wing was built on the north side of the gym; the facility contains the Wellness Center. With the new weight room renovation of the building coming in 2023.Â
