Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: After closing the gap to trail by two points in the third quarter, the Conqs are unable to answer 28 Red Raven points in the fourth eventually dropping DC3 49-19 on the day.
The wind was an essential part of the game today at Memorial Stadium as 35 mile per hour gusts hurt the Conqs passing game as well as both sides kick attempts when going into the wind.
The Conqs started off by giving up a touchdown on a four minute drive, but continued to push through to lead the first quarter 9-7 after a 30-yard field goal by
Dillon Burkhard and a big 24-yard rush by
Keymonne Gabriel that edged the Conqs up.
The Red Ravens took the second half, adding another two touchdowns off a 42-yard run and 50-yard passing touchdown that edged the opposition up 21-9. Their defense would hold strong, not allowing the Conqs a chance at any second quarter points.
In the first half alone, Ford went 4-7 on passing attempts for 24 yards including a 15-yard long toss. He also collected 40 yards on seven carries including a 22-yard gain early in the game.
Keymonne Gabriel led the rush effort with a gain 54 yards on eight carries for the Conqs.

The clock was running down with DC3 still trailing by five, but a commanding 55-yard field goal by Burkhard edged the Conqs up to just a two-point deficit heading into the last quarter.
The Red Ravens went on a 28-point run over the Conqs to close out the game in the fourth quarter. Despite a few possessions, DC3 was no match for the conditions and opposition as they kept pushing for the win.
Two touchdowns, a 35-yard returned interception and 89-yard blocked punt attempt put DC3 under with no chance to come back late in the game.
On the day, Ford had 10 completions in 22 attempts with two interceptions for 90 yards. Gabriel owned 69 yards on 16 carries, and led the Conqs with two touchdowns on the day.
Christian Booker and
Jeff George each had three catches in the game, with Booker owning 27 yards and George posting 25 for the Conqs.
Ted Taylor led the Conq defense with eight solo tackles and seven assisted. He posted 11.5 tackles on the day including one sack for a Red Raven loss of five yards.
Bryce Hofmeister also had a day with seven assisted tackles and four solos. He posted one tackle for loss for 14 big yards for DC3 as well as one breakup.
Andre Adams collected one pick on the day while
Desmond Henderson,
DeShane Lewis and
Elijah Battle all had one breakup against Coffeyville.
Dillon Burkhard was good for two field goals today, one from 30 yards out and one big 55-yard kick. He also had four kickoffs for 184 yards, averaging 46 yards per kick and three touchbacks.
Steve Knoche put in five punts for 102 yards, averaging 20.4 per kick and a 40-yard long punt. He posted one inside the 20.
The Conqs will close up the season next Saturday, November 8 at 1 p.m. at Highland Community College to finish out 2014.
