Coming off a record-setting season that saw the Dodge City softball team win a program-record 46 games and capture the Region 6 championship, earning a trip to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament. The Conquistadors won their third district and region titles in school history and made their third trip to nationals, the first since 2002. 

The Conqs head into the 2025-26 school year with Head Coach Mike Viramontez bringing in a new assistant coach, Logan Martin, to the staff. Martin joins the staff after the previous two assistant coaches moved on to NCAA DI assistant coaching jobs at the University of North Texas and Georgia Southern University. 

Martin joins the Conq coaching staff after spending the 2026 season as an assistant coach at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas. 

"I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to a culture that values hard work, competitiveness, and personal growth. I am very excited about the opportunity to help develop the softball program by building relationships with the student-athletes and supporting their development on and off the field. I am also excited for the opportunity to work with Coach Viramontez and to help continue building the program. I want to thank Coach Viramontez and the administration for this incredible opportunity," said Martin. 

The Pauls Valley, Oklahoma native started her coaching career at the high school level at Davis High School in Oklahoma. She made the jump to college coaching and served as an assistant coach at Seward County CC for the 2021-22 school year, helping the team finish as Region 6 runner-ups in 2022. Martin then went on to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where she spent three seasons as an assistant coach while earning her master's degree. 

Before getting into coaching, Martin played college softball at the NJCAA level, spending two seasons competing at Murray State College. Her sophomore year, she helped Murray State post a 40-10 record as they won a region and district championship. She hit .323 with 43 hits, 42 runs, eight doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 41 RBI, and 19 walks.  

"I hope to make a positive impact on Dodge City athletics and the softball program by helping continue to build a culture of growth, accountability, and excellence. My goal is to contribute to an environment where the student-athletes are challenged both on the field and in the classroom while developing strong character, leadership, and teamwork skills. Within the softball program, I want to help Coach Viramontez continue building a competitive, disciplined, and supportive culture. I believe that creating meaningful relationships with student-athletes and having an environment where they feel supported and motivated will help them succeed. Ultimately, I want to contribute to a program that competes for championships while preparing student athletes for success long after their playing careers are over," said Martin.
