Dodge City women's golf team wrapped up KJCCC play with the third conference tournament of the spring, competing at the Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course in Hays, Kansas.
The Conquistadors finished second, just one stroke behind first place, with a two-round team score of 673 (+105), shooting 346 in the first round and 327 in the second.
Heewon Pak recorded rounds of 80 and 81 to finish with a 161 (+19), earning a second-place finish and notching another top performance for the Conqs during her sophomore season.
Tilly Jones, behind a score of 170 (+28), placed eighth for the tournament shooting rounds of 90 and 80.
Zhana Navato followed Jones, placing ninth with a 171 (+29) recording rounds of 86 and 85.
Both
Dorthea Evebo and
Molly Lloyd each finished with a 174 (+32) score to tie for 12th place overall. Evebo shot rounds of 90 and 84, while Lloyd shot 92 and 82.
Claire Runyan finished out the Conq performances, placing 17th with a 186 (+44), posting rounds of 92 and 94.
Conqs now turn their attention to the NJCAA Region 6 and Plains District Championship, which will take place on April 27th-28th in Goodland, Kansas, at Sugar Hills Golf Club. At the tournament, the Conqs will vie for three different titles in the KJCCC, Region 6, and Plains District championships.
