Dodge City women's golf hosted the Conquistador Classic on Monday and Tuesday and finished fourth out of seven teams in action while taking third in KJCCC competition.
The Conquistadors teed off on their home course, Mariah Hills Golf Course, and in the first round shot a 317 (+33) and then capped the tournament with a 342 (+58) on a windy day two of competition, to finish with a 659 (+91).
Leading the way for the Conqs was
Zhana Navato, who finished tied for third with a 153 (+11) score. She posted a tournament low even par 71 score in the first round and capped the tournament with an 82 in the second round.
A score of 164 (+22) was the second-best performance for the Conqs as
Heewon Pak carded rounds of 78 and 86 to tie for 14th place.
Dorthea Evebo placed 19th for the Conqs with a 168 (+26) after shooting rounds of 83 and 85, while
Tilly Jones placed 22nd with a score of 171 (+29), shooting rounds of 83 and 88.
Molly Lloyd and
Claire Runyan tied for 23rd place with scores of 172 (+30) each. Lloyd recorded rounds of 85 and 87, while
Claire Runyan shot rounds of 85 and 87.
The Conqs have a quick turnaround as they will be back on course on Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th competing at KJCCC Match in Hays at Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course.
