Women's Golf Opens Spring Season at Firekeeper Open

Into the swing of things, the Dodge City women's golf opened the spring season, competing at the Firekeeper Open hosted by Washburn University in Mayetta, Kansas. 

The field featured mainly NCAA Division II competition as the Conquistadors put together a solid performance, finishing with a three-round team score of 977 (+113). Posting rounds of 326, 330, and 321. 

Leading the way for the Conqs individually was the play of Zhana Navato, who tied for 23rd out of a field of 81 golfers. Navato posted a score of 236 (+20) after carding rounds of 79, 81, and 76. 

Heewon Pak tied for 35th place with a 240 score, posting rounds of 79, 83, and 78, while Molly Lloyd tied for 46th place behind a score of 245, carding rounds of 85, 76, and 84. 

Tilly Jones posted a score of 258 to finish tied for 69th, posting rounds of 83, 90, and 85. Claire Runyan shot a 270 score for the Conqs to finish 78th with rounds of 90, 97, and 83. Dorthea Evebo finished out the Conq performances with a score of 282 to place 79th, shooting rounds of 96, 97, and 89. 

Conference play starts for the Conqs next as the spring season continues, March 30th-31st, with the first KJCCC Match to take place in Garden City at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
