Women's Basketball Ranked #8 in Latest NJCAA DI Rankings

Dodge City women's basketball remained in the Top 10 in the latest NJCAA Division I national rankings but slipped two spots to #8. 

The Conquistadors' Top 10 ranking marks the 25th straight poll in which the Conqs have been featured in the Top 10, while being ranked in 55 of the last 56 polls overall. Butler and Hutchinson continue to join the Conqs in the rankings, with Butler at #2 and Hutchinson at #17. 

The Conqs sit at 21-3 on the season and 16-3 in KJCCC action in second place in the KJCCC with five games remaining in the regular season. It's the fourth straight year the Conqs have won 20+ games. 

Offensively, the Conqs are averaging 76.9 points per game on 45% shooting, which ranks 22nd and 12th in the NJCAA. The three-point basket continues to be a key piece of the equation for the Conqs leading the NJCAA with 12.3 made three-pointers per game on 34.2 three-pointers attempted per game, while shooting 36.1% from three-point range, which ranks third in the NJCAA. Conqs are making 27.8 shots per game and average 19.8 assists per game (4th in NJCAA), assisting on 71% of made field goals. On the season, the Conqs have hit 296 three-pointers, the most in the NJCAA; 36 more than the second most. 

On defense, the Conqs are holding teams to 56.5 points per game on 36.3% shooting and only 27% from three-point range. Conqs are forcing their opponents into 18.9 turnovers per game. 

Five games remain in the regular season as the Conqs look to finish strong to prepare for the postseason. Conqs travel to Goodland on Wednesday, February 18th, to take on Fort Hays Tech Northwest and then take on Garden City on the road on Saturday, February 21st.
