September 05, 2025

After getting off to a strong start to the cross country season, the Dodge City CC Conquistadors traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to continue their season and once again ran under the lights as they competed at the Rogers State Distance After Dark.

The Conq women would finish seventh as a team, with several individuals taking strong strides forward with their performances.

The performances of Daniela Cerda and Denae Arellano paced the Conqs as they finished 31st and 33rd with times of 19:18.05 and 19:25.48, respectively, out of nearly 115 runners who competed.

The third-best time on the night for the Conqs came from Sarai Rodriguez, who placed 58th with a time of 20:52.89. Kristina Bates and Jennifer Lamas recorded times of 21:27.65 and 21:37.31 to place 73rd and 76th, while Karina Avalos Martinez and Rofina Pablo were not far behind, placing 79th (21:45.21) and 82nd (22:05.04).

Leiann Maize claimed 87th place (22:25.72), Karen Vargas Alvarez finished 92nd (22:54.24), and Alexis Bradshaw wrapped up the Conq performances, placing 107th (30:46.52).

It's another quick turnaround for the Conqs as they compete in Newton, Kansas, on Saturday, September 13th at the Muthama-Rogers Invite hosted by Bethel College to continue the season.
