Women's Cross Country Races at FHSU Tiger Open

Dodge City women's cross country wrapped up the regular season racing at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open in Hays, Kansas, on Saturday and finished ninth as a team, as they now look towards the NJCAA Region 6 Championships on October 24th. 

The Conquistadors were led by Daniela Cerda, who was the lone Conq to post a sub-20-minute time, finishing with a time of 19:40.5 to place 48th out of 103 runners. 

Denae Arellano had the second fastest time for the Conqs on the day as she posted a time of 20:06.9 to place 58th. A 67th-place finish was earned by Sarai Rodriguez as she ran to a time of 20:40.1, while Rofina Pablo posted a time of 21:35.75 to place 81st. 

Jennifer Lamas and Kristina Bates finished 84th and 85th, respectively, with times of 21:48.5 and 22:00.1, while Karen Vargas Alvarez finished 88th with a time of 22:28.34. LeiAnn Maize and Karina Avalos Martinez rounded out the Conq performances, placing 90th and 91st with times of 22:58.9 and 23:26.6. 

The Conqs will compete at the NJCAA Region 6 Championship in Colby, Kansas, on Friday, October 24th, as Colby Community College is set to host.
