Back in action, the Dodge City women's cross country team competed at the Neosho County CC Invite and finished in second place as a team.
Pacing the way for the Conquistadors was the performance of
Daniela Cerda, who finished in second place individually behind a time of 20:11.9, while
Denae Arellano was just behind her, recording a time of 20:19.7 to finish third.
Rofina Pablo had a strong outing for the Conqs as she finished sixth with a time of 21:46.6 to give the Conqs three Top 10 individual performers on the day.
Six more Conqs were in action and all finished close to each other to finish out the performances at the Neosho County CC Invite.
Jennifer Lamas raced to a time of 22:27.7 to finish 13th, while
Kristina Bates placed 14th with a time of 22:39.3 and
LeiAnn Maize earned a 15th place finish behind a time of 22:42.6.
Karina Avalos Martinez posted a time of 22:48.9 to finish 16th,
Sarai Rodriguez placed 17th with a time of 22:57.8, and
Karen Vargas Alvarez posted a time of 23:17.7 to finish 19th.
The Conqs will have one final race before the NJCAA Region 6 Championships, which will take place in Colby on October 24th. They will travel to Hays, Kansas, on Saturday, October 11th, to compete at the Fort Hays State Invite.
