Dodge City women's golf teed off for the third time this fall, competing in another NCAA Division II event against some strong competition, and were led by a third-place individual performance.
The Conquistadors would post rounds of 329 and 328 to finish with a +81 score of 657 at the Newman Invitational hosted at Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas.
Zhana Navato had a strong outing for the Conqs as she finished with a 146 (+2) two-round score to earn a third-place finish out of 64 competitors. She registered an even par 72 in the first round and then carded a 74 on day two.
Heewon Pak tied for 29th place as the second-best Conq finish at the tournament, posting a two-round score of 160 (+16) after carding rounds of 81 and 79.
With rounds of 172 (+28), 176 (+32), and 179 (+35) the trio of
Molly Lloyd,
Claire Runyan, and
Hannah Tri finished 53rd, 55th, and 56th place, respectively. Finishing out the Conq performances was
Tilly Jones, who placed 61st with a score of 188 (+44).
The Conqs will have a break from action for the next few weeks before wrapping up fall competition at another NCAA DII event in late October on the 27th-28th, as they will compete at the Tulsa Cup hosted by Rogers State University in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at The Club at Forest Ridge.
