Dodge City men's soccer, for the third straight week, has earned recognition at the national level as they remain in the latest NJCAA Division I rankings, checking in at #15 in the latest poll.
The Conquistadors went 1-1 last week on the pitch to move to 6-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in Jayhawk conference action. The first loss of the season saw the Conqs slip three spots in the poll.
Two other KJCCC teams remain ranked alongside the Conqs as Cowley moves up one spot to #3 and Barton remains at #9.
The Conqs last week earned a 3-2 victory on the road against Seward County and fell to Cowley on the road 4-0 in their most recent action.
On the season, the Conqs have netted 25 goals and average 2.78 goals per game, which leads the KJCCC, while also leading the conference in shots and total saves. Nationally, the Conqs rank 12th in shots per game at 16.6 and 13th in total shots with 149, while ranking 25th in goals and 21st in assists (22).
Conqs are back in action on Wednesday, October 1st, against Trinidad State in Colorado with a 2:00 pm (CT) start time and then dip back into conference play on Saturday, October 4th against Coffeyville at 5:00 pm at home.
