Dodge City men's soccer squared off with another ranked conference opponent in a battle of unbeatens, taking on #4 Cowley, and while the Conquistadors had some solid chances, it was the Tigers controlling the game in a 4-0 loss for the Conqs.
The Conqs, with the loss, move to 6-1-2 on the season and 3-1-1 in the KJCCC action.
Conqs would challenge the Tigers, but ultimately Cowley grabbed the lead in the 26th minute and added another in the 36th minute, leading 2-0 at intermission after outshooting the Conqs 10-5 in the first half. The second half would see the Conqs only able to get off five more shots while Cowley controlled more of the possession, firing off 11 shots and netting two more goals in the 76th and 79th minutes, leading to a 4-0 final.
The Conqs in the loss were outshot 21-10 with just five shots on goal on the road against the Tigers.
Geovanni De Luna recorded six saves in the loss.
The season continues for the Conqs on Wednesday, October 1st, as they step back out of conference play and take on Trinidad State at 1:00 pm on the road.
