Dodge City women's cross country was back at it, racing in a 5K race in North Newton, Kansas, as Bethel College hosted the Muthama-Rogers Invitational.
The Conquistadors finished sixth as a team in a field that featured three NJCAA schools, multiple NAIA schools, and a pair of NCAA Division II schools.
Nearly 100 runners were in action on the day, and leading the Conqs was
Denae Arellano as she posted a time of 20:30.70 to finish 13th overall.
Daniela Cerda had the second-best finish for the Conqs, racing to a 25th-place finish behind a 21:09.17, while
Sarai Rodriguez posted a time of 21:45.24 to finish 32nd.
Jennifer Lamas earned a 44th-place finish, racing to a time of 22:36.36. The trio of
Karina Avalos Martinez,
Rofina Pablo, and
Kristina Bates finished 51st (23:14.20), 53rd (23:23.89), and 54th (23:27.43), respectively.
Leiann Maize and
Karen Vargas Alvarez finished out the Conq performances, placing 65th (24:05.00) and 70th place (24:32.41).
The Conqs are now off for the next few weeks from competition but are set to compete at the Neosho County CC Invite in Chanute, Kansas, on Friday, October 3rd.
