The trophy case got a little more crowded for Dodge City cheer as the Conquistadors brought home some more hardware after competing at the National Cheer Association National Championships in Daytona, Florida.
For the third straight year, the Conqs hoisted the trophy for the Intermediate Small Coed Junior College division beating out four other teams in the competition to three-peat as champions. The Conqs Advanced Small Coed Junior College team put together a strong showing at the bandshell and came away with a second-place finish.
The Intermediate team started strong competing in the Ocean Center Arena setting the tone for the competition with a 95.22 score on their day one routine. The Conqs would fire back on day two with another strong performance finishing with a score of 94.555 to win by nearly five points. The Conqs have fielded a team in the intermediate small coed junior college level now for the last three years and won the championship each year.
The Advanced team competed at the Bandshell and put together some strong performances posting a score of 87.3833 on day one and finishing on day two with an 88.5583 score to finish in second place.
The Conqs capped another year with a strong showing in Daytona at the NCA National Championships. They also competed in the first-ever NJCAA Invitational and took second in that event.
