December 20, 2025

The Dodge City women's soccer program will be under new guidance as Julio Guerrero has been selected as the new Head Coach for the Conquistadors, becoming the ninth head coach in program history.

Guerrero takes over a program that looks to take steps forward and consistently challenge for a top spot in the KJCCC. He looks to bring his knowledge and passion for soccer to Dodge City to help lead the women's soccer program to new heights.

"I truly believe Dodge City has everything it needs to win a conference title and to compete against some of the best teams in the nation. I'm excited to coach in one of the toughest conferences in junior college. I can't wait to get started," said Guerrero on the opportunity to lead the Conquistador women's soccer program.

The Sanger, Texas native joins the Dodge City CC athletic staff with head coaching experience at the NJCAA, along with coaching and playing experience in the KJCCC. For the past four years, Guerrero has patrolled the sidelines at Ranger College in Texas, leading both the women's and men's programs. During his tenure at Ranger, he helped both programs capture region titles and achieved Top 20 rankings nationally. The 2025 season saw the Ranger women finish 11-2-2, winning a Region V title, along with going 6-0-1 in conference play to win a conference title, while qualifying for the District Championship game. Under Guerrero's guidance, the women's program made the region championship game each season. He led the men's program to an 8-5-3 record in 2024 and a Region 6 title.

Guerrero got his coaching career underway in 2016 at Rockhurst University, where he was an assistant for three years, including two seasons that saw Rockhurst qualify for the NCAA Division II national tournament, making the final four in 2016 and 2017. In 2019, he spent the season as an assistant at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, helping the team to a Top 5 KCAC finish going 10-6-1. From 2020 to 2021, he was an assistant for the women's program at Allen Community College. He helped the Red Devils to multiple Region 6 and KJCCC titles and a NJCAA DII national tournament appearance in 2020-21.

"I hope to create a foundation of tradition that will allow players to succeed both on and off the field, along with allowing our players to play at a high level and compete for conference and national championships. Also, providing a route to continue playing after their time at Dodge City. Along with creating a great relationship within the community and having players be proud to be a Conquistador," said Guerrero, on how he hopes to impact the program and Dodge City athletics.

Guerrero's familiarity with the KJCCC started with his playing career as he attended Allen CC in 2012 and played for the Red Devils for two seasons. He helped Allen qualify for the playoffs and was named the most improved player in 2013 for the Red Devils. He transferred to the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, to finish his college playing career.

He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees both from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth (KS), earning the degrees in psychology and adult education and leadership.
Guerrero will work through the spring to build and prepare for his first season leading Dodge City in the fall of 2026.
