Julio Guerrero is in his first season as Head Coach of women’s soccer at Dodge City, as he becomes the ninth-ever coach of the program, taking over the program in December 2026. 
 
Guerrero comes to Dodge City with head coaching experience at the NJCAA level and familiarity with the KJCCC from coaching and playing in the Jayhawk Conference. He made his way to Dodge City after serving as the Head Coach at Ranger College for both the women’s and men’s soccer programs (2022-2025). During his time leading Ranger, he led both programs to a region title. For the women’s program, the 2025 team put together an 11-2-2 record, winning the Region V Championship as they beat Cisco 4-0 in the region title game and went 6-0-1 to win the conference title, while also playing in the NJCAA District Championship game. The women’s program played in the region championship all four seasons under Guerrero. In 2024, the Ranger men won a Region V Championship, going 8-5-3 in the season. Both programs were nationally ranked under Guerrero, each working their way in to the Top 20 at some point. 
 
He coached multiple all-conference and all-academic player honorees during his time at Ranger, along with Ismael Dama as the men’s goalkeeper, earning Region 5 Most Valuable Player in 2025. While coaching a pair of women’s players, Hannah Nunez and Sara Sanzeteena, who went on to represent their country in the U20 Sudamerica Women’s World Cup qualifying, playing for the U20 Paraguayan and Bolivian national teams, respectively. 
 
The Texas native got his coaching start at NCAA Division II Rockhurst University with the men’s program in 2016 under legendary coach Tony Tocco. He helped coach the reserve team and, during his time at Rockhurst, was a part of teams that in 2016 and 2017 qualified for the NCAA DII national tournament each year, making the final four. After three seasons at Rockhurst (2016-2018) he moved on to his alma mater, the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, coaching there for the 2019 season, helping the team to a 10-6-1 record and a Top 5 KCAC finish. From 2020 to 2021, Guerrero served as an assistant coach at his other alma mater, Allen Community College, working with the women’s program. The 2020-21 season saw the Allen women achieve a Top 10 national ranking, winning the Region 6 KJCCC DII title and qualifying for the NJCAA DII national tournament. The 2021 season saw the Allen women repeat as KJCCC and Region 6 DII champions. 
 
Guerrero’s familiarity with the KJCCC started with his playing career as he attended Allen CC in 2012 and played for the Red Devils for two seasons. He helped Allen qualify for the playoffs and was named the most improved player in 2013 for the Red Devils. He transferred to the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, to finish his college playing career. 
 
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees both from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth (KS), earning the degrees in psychology and adult education and leadership. He also has his multiple coaching licenses: USSF D license; NSCAA Goalkeeper Level 2 license; Irish Grassroots Level 1 coaching license; current master’s student for High Performance at the Football Science Institute; and NSCAA National Coaching Diploma.
