Women's Basketball Remains Ranked #1 In Latest NJCAA DI Rankings

December 16, 2025

Dodge City women's basketball rolls into the holiday break with an unblemished record, sitting at 12-0 on the season and 7-0 in the KJCCC.

The Conquistadors took over the #1 ranking in the NJCAA Division I polls back on November 17th and have now been ranked atop the polls for five straight weeks. Two other KJCCC schools remained in the rankings: #14 Butler and #19 Hutchinson.

The Conqs' 12-0 start to the season is the third-longest win streak to open a season in program history and the third-longest win streak under Head Coach Landon Steele. The latest games saw the Conqs pick up a 79-57 home win over #18 Hutchinson and an 80-45 road win over Pratt.

Offensively, the Conqs continue to be efficient and one of the top teams in the NJCAA. Averaging 80.3 points per game on 46.8% shooting, the Conqs lead the KJCCC and rank 15th and eighth in the NJCAA in both categories. Conqs make 29.6 field goals per game, with 12.7 being made three-pointers, ranking 16th and first in the NJCAA. They also lead the NJCAA in three-pointers attempted per game at 34.3 and rank fifth in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 37%. The ladies have made 152 three pointers, the second most in the NJCAA. Sharing the ball has been a key piece of the Conqs' offense, averaging 21.9 assists, ranking third in the NJCAA as the team is recording an assist on nearly 74% of their shots.

Conqs defensively are holding opponents to 52.4 points per game, ranking 18th in the NJCAA, as teams are only shooting 34% and 25.8% from three-point range. The defense is forcing 21 turnovers per game by opponents, while averaging 12.6 steals per game.

The season starts up again in 2026 when the Conqs will have back-to-back home games taking on Fort Hays Tech Northwest and Garden City on Saturday, January 3rd and Wednesday, January 7th.
