Women's Basketball Heads Into Holiday Break Undefeated With Win Over Pratt

Dodge City women's basketball heads into the holiday break with an unblemished record after picking up an 80-45 win over Pratt on the road.

The Conquistadors sit at 12-0 on the season and 7-0 in KJCCC action. The win is the ninth in a row against Pratt in the series with the Beavers.

Less than 30 seconds into the contest, Jolie Mantz rained in a three-pointer for the Conqs and worked to a 7-2 advantage three minutes into the contest. Pratt would push back to make it 9-8 Conqs, and the Beavers netted the final shot of the first quarter, giving the Conqs only a 14-13 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Conqs scored the first five points of the second quarter and went on a 14-2 run over eight minutes to lead 28-15 and ultimately used a 16-8 second quarter to lead 30-21 at intermission.

The third quarter would be another big frame for the Conqs as it has been throughout the season, as they opened the second half with a 15-2 run to establish firm control. Conqs held Pratt to just nine points in the third while scoring 24 and then added 26 more points in the fourth on their way to the 80-45 victory.

For the fourth time this season, the Conqs shot 50+% in a game as they shot 50.8% from the floor, netting 12 three-pointers and dished out 22 assists on 31 made field goals. Conqs' defense held Pratt to just 28.3% shooting, marking the fourth time this season an opponent has shot under 30% in a game. Defense also forced 22 turnovers by the Beavers, the eighth time this season an opponent has had 20 or more turnovers in a game.

Manuela Piljevic, for the second consecutive game, had a double-double as she had 13 points on 5-9 shooting while grabbing 12 rebounds. Piljevic added two assists, two blocks, and one steal to round out her day. Mantz added 15 points on 5-10 shooting with all five shots being three-pointers. Savi Mi and Mailey Cunningham each chipped in nine points.

The Conqs enter the holiday break 12-0 and will restart the season once the calendar flips to 2026 with their first game against Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Saturday, January 3rd at 1:00 pm.
