As the cross country season is coming down to just a few meets remaining, and Dodge City men's and women's cross country teams are preparing for the Region 6 Championship, both teams remained ranked nationally in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NJCAA Division I rankings.
The Conquistador women check in at #21 in the latest USTFCCCA NJCAA DI rankings, which marks the 32nd straight poll the ladies have been ranked. The Conq women have been competitive all season, competing against all levels of competition with Top 10 team finishes at all five meets this season.
Daniela Cerda and
Denae Arellano have paced the Conqs with the top individual performance consistently throughout the year, while the Conqs have had strong performances and improvements across the roster.
The Conquistador men have been ranked all season as they remain in the latest USTFCCCA NJCAA DI rankings, coming in at #23. The Conq men have recorded a top-seven team finish in four of the five meets this season.
Josue Vega and
Rafael Zaballa del Hoyo have led the Conqs with top individual performances on the year, while the Conqs have had strong performances and improvements across the roster.
Conqs are set for competition on Friday, October 24th, at the NJCAA Region 6 Championships in Colby, Kansas, looking for a strong showing to look towards the NJCAA DI National Championships set for November 8th in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
