Women's Cross Country Finishes 12th at NJCAA DI National Championships

Dodge City women's cross country for the fifth straight year has finished as a Top 12 team at the NJCAA Division I National Championship after racing to a 12th place team finish to wrap up the 2024 season. 
 
Three Top 60 finishes led the Conquistadors while four Conqs finish in the Top 70 overall with six Conqs in action. 
 
Sarai Chavez led the Conqs posting a time of 19:16.1 to earn a 56th-place finish out of 184 total runners. Her time was a 35-second improvement from her freshman-year performance at Nationals. 
 
Ivy Washington was right behind Chavez finishing 57th with a time of 19:18.6 nearly a 31-second improvement from her time as a freshman at nationals. Ava Washington grabbed 59th place with a time of 19:21.7, improving upon her freshman time at nationals by 16 seconds. 
 
The Conqs lone freshman runner at nationals, Daniela Cerda earned a 70th place finish posting a time of 19:39.2. 
 
Teressa Martinez capped her cross country career at Dodge City finishing 113th with a time of 20:43.1 and Abbi Worden placed 115th with a time of 20:45.4. Martinez improved her time from her freshman year from nearly 22 seconds. 
 
The ladies now gear up for the indoor track and field season which will commence for the Conqs in January of 2025 when the spring semester starts.
