Softball Looks to Continue Swinging Hot Bats into Busy Week

(Dodge City, Kansas) -- The Dodge City Community College Softball team has three doubleheaders this week and will try to continue their momentum from sweeping Pratt.
 
The Series
 
Vs. Western Texas College
 
  • Since 2015 the teams are fairly even with Western Texas holding the edge 5-4.
  • Western Texas won the two matchups earlier on this season.
 
Vs. Colby Community College
 
  • Colby has played well in this matchup winning 14 of the 18 matchups since 2015.
  • The Trojans have won 9 straight in this matchup since the 2017 season. 
 
Vs. Seward County Community College
 
  • The Conqs have not been able to figure out the Saints as they have won just 5 of 20 meetings since 2015.
  • Seward has won all 12 meetings since 2017.
 
Warning Track
 
  • Dodge City Community College is 15-13 on the season.
  • The sweep over Pratt improved the Conqs to 9-11 in KJCCC play. 
  • The Conquistadors continue to be a tough team to beat at home with an 11-3 record. 
  • The Conqs offense scored 19 runs in their 10 innings against Pratt and have been swinging hot bats over the last couple weeks
  • The Conquistadors are in the top 6 of the conference in batting average, OBP, and Slugging Percentage. 
 
Scouting
 
Western Texas College
 
  • Western Texas is 17-13 on the season.
  • They are playing well in the conference, winning 9 of 12 games thus far. 
  • Their offense has powered them, hitting .327 on the year.
  • The Conqs will have to figure out a way to not let Kristina O'Banion and Angelica Medina beat them, as each is hitting over .400 with 52 RBI's combined. 
 
Colby Community College
 
  • Colby has had a strong season thus far, winning 24, and losing 14 games. 
  • They are 14-6 in conference, leading the west division of the KJCCC.
  • As a team, the Trojans are 3rdin the conference in ERA. 
  • Madison Haegele is having a great year, leading the conference in ERA at 1.44, and has 13 wins, also leading the conference.
 
Seward County Community College
 
  • Seward has struggled this year, sitting at 9-22 overall.
  • Despite the poor overall record, they are 5-5 in the Jayhawk.
  • Seward is in the top 10 in BA, OBP, and Slugging.
  • Jordan Cordey is hitting .421 on the year.
