(Dodge City, KS) -- The Dodge City Community College Baseball team really struggled over the last couple of weeks prior to the Cloud County series. They won two of the four games there and then swept Otero Junior College.

Vs. Butler
 

• Historically the Conquistadors have struggled against the Grizzlies, with Butler winning 62 of the 83 matchups. 
• Despite the historical struggles, the Conqs won 9 of the 12 matchups from 2015-2017.
• Since 2013, Dodge City holds a 10-6 edge over Butler.

• Dodge City Community College has a 24-22 record but has had some struggles in the conference, as they are just 6-18 in Jayhawk play.
• The Conquistadors have turned it around recently after losing 11 of 12 conference matchups.
• The Conqs have now won 4 of their last 6 games. 
• Currently, Dodge City is 6^thin the KJCCC in batting average and 7^thin slugging percentage.
• Despite that, they are just 11^thin on-base percentage. 
• Garrett McGowan is tied for second in the conference with 12 home runs.

• The Grizzlies are 29-17 overall.
• In KJCCC play Butler is 14-10.
• The Grizzlies have struggled offensively, as they are in the bottom third of the conference in batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. 
• They are 9^thin ERA as a team. 
• Butler has several dangerous players. Patrick Bethea is hitting .340 on the season and is second in the conference in stolen bases with 27.
• Bennett Scherer has a 3.23 ERA and is second in the KJCCC in saves. He has 8.
• Zach Bravo strikes out batters at a high level, as he has 77 in his 58.1 innings pitched. 
• Javier Pena has 12 home runs. That is tied for second-most in the conference.
