(Dodge City, Kansas) -- The Dodge City Community College Softball team has a pair of doubleheaders this week to try to move past their current six-game losing streak. First, they are at home on Wednesday taking on Northwest Kansas Technical College. On Saturday, they head to Great Bend to take on Barton County Community College.
The Series
Vs. Northwest Kansas Technical College
- They have not played a lot in recent years but NWKTC won all five meetings against the Conqs last year.
Vs. Barton Community College
- This series has been back and forth over the last several years with Barton holding the edge.
- Overall, Barton has the 13-8 lead over the Conqs since the beginning of the 2015 season.
Vs. Lamar Community College
- Last year was the first time in recent years these two have met and Lamar swept the doubleheader last year.
Warning Track
- Dodge City Community College is 9-9 to start the year.
- DC3 is 3-7 in Conference.
- The Conquistadors have been Jekyll and hide with a 7-3 record at home and a 3-6 record on the road.
- The Conqs had a good start to the year on offense and pitching but it has fallen apart recently with a six-game losing streak.
Scouting
Northwest Kansas Technical College
- NWKTC has had a rough start to the year at 1-22.
- Their lone win of the season came on Sunday at Pratt Community College.
- Despite their rough start, the offense has not been the issue.
- They are #1 in the conference in Batting Average, hitting .383, and 4thin OBP at .437.
- Pitching has been a major issue, however, as they have a team ERA of 16.07, worst in the conference by 6 runs.
Barton Community College
- Barton Community College is 13-8 overall, and 7-1 in the conference.
- After a 9-game winning streak, they have now lost 3 in a row.
- Their team ERA of 4.56 is tied for 7thbest in the Jayhawk.
- It is their hitting that has carried them, as they are #4 in the conference in BA, #1 in OBP, and #1 in SLG.
Lamar Community College
- Lamar is 10-16 on the season thus far.
- They are 0-5 on the road.
- Emily Womeldorff is 4thin Region IX in ERA, sporting a number of 3.69.
