(Dodge City, KS.) -- The Dodge City Community College Softball team has a busy weekend ahead of it. After a very good opening week, starting the season 4-0 they will play 6 games in 3 days. They head to Snyder, Texas for doubleheaders, Friday and Saturday against Western Texas College, then on Sunday head to Borger for a third doubleheader in as many days, taking on Frank Phillips College.
The Series
Vs. Western Texas College

- The Westerners and Conqs have met 7 times since 2015. The Conqs have a 4-3 advantage in the series since that point.
- Last year they split a doubleheader early in the season. The Conquistadors won game 1 8-6 and were beaten 16-2 in the final game.
Vs. Frank Phillips College

- Last year was the first time these two teams met in recent history.
- Last year the Conquistadors were able to get a doubleheader sweep, winning the games 19-10, and 13-5.

- Dodge City Community College has started the season perfect, with a 4-0 record after sweeping Hesston College, and Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.
- Jessica Espinoza was great on the mound for the Conquistadors. She threw 17.1 innings, allowing just 5 runs for a sterling 2.03 era.
- The Conqs also had great defensive play behind her, with both Courtney Huff and Haley Bass making great plays in the middle infield.
- Lexy Perez was a big contributor hitting a grand slam in the comeback win in game 1 against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid.Â
