Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DODGE CITY, Kan. - Taking a week off during spring break, the Conqs came back in full stride on Tuesday afternoon, sweeping Oklahoma Panhandle State JV by scores of 14-1 (5 innings) and 12-0 (5 innings).

Carter Hogan got the start in game one on the mound, throwing all five innings and allowing just one run on four hits while he struck out three batters. 

Cade Engle went 2-for-2 at the plate including a leadoff double to lead the Conquistadors with two hits on the day. Engle also scored three runs in the game. 

After the Aggies got a run in the top of the first, the Conqs fired back with four runs of their own as Cade Engle got things started with a leadoff double. After Brayden Cook reached on a bunt single and Dauson Tate was hit by a pitch, Garrett McGowan doubled to score two runs. Alan Garcia then singled to score McGowan and give Dodge City a 4-1 lead. 

In the bottom of the second, the Conqs got one more run on a Tanner White single, but the third inning is where the Aggies fell apart and the Conqs pushed the game out of reach. The Conqs scored nine runs in the inning on just two hits, while collecting a total of eight walks to extend their lead to 14-1.

After a scoreless fourth, the Aggies got two baserunners in the top of the fifth, but after a strikeout, Dodge City was able to complete a 5-3-2 double play to end the game and give Dodge City the 14-1 win.

Williams Cain got the call in game two, allowing the only hit of the game for the Aggies and not giving up any runs. Eric Lindsay and Jake English each threw one inning in the game and the three pitchers combined for seven strikeouts.

At the plate, Griffin McBride was the only Conquistador with multiple hits as he had a perfect 3-for-3 day, while scoring a run and also driving in a run.

Just like the first game, the Conqs got four runs in the bottom of the first as the inning was started with an Engle triple. After a ground out scored Engle, the Conqs collected three more hits in the inning including a double from Colton Onstott, and back-to-back singles from McBride and Colton Talton to give Dodge City a 4-0 lead. 

The third inning proved vital again for the Aggies as the Conquistadors scored seven runs in the bottom half of the inning on five walks, three hits and an error to make it 11-0 early.

Dodge City got one more in the bottom of the fourth on a bases loaded walk, then Jake English sat the Aggies down in order in the top of the fifth to give Dodge City the 12-0 win.

The Conqs are now 14-8 on the year and will continue KJCCC play on Thursday as they host Garden City at 2 p.m., for a doubleheader at Cavalier Field.
