Box Score 2 LAMAR, Colo. - The Conquistador softball team dropped two games to Lamar Community College on Friday afternoon by scores of 8-0 (5 Innings) and 9-1 (5 Innings).
Jordyn McDaniel got the start in game one, going just 0.1 innings and allowing seven runs, six of which were earned.
Brittany Kendall then entered the game and threw 3.2 innings and allowing just one run on two hits.
The Lopes started off hot and scored seven runs in the first inning, but after the first, the Conqs were able to hold them scoreless for the next three innings. In the fifth, Lamar was able to add one run and win the game 8-0.
Emily Stephenson started in the circle in game two and threw 1.1 innings, allowing four runs on four hits before McDaniel took over and finished the game, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing five runs.Â
After a scoreless first inning, the Lopes were able to get five runs in the bottom of the second with three runs coming off a line drive off Stephenson's shin. In the very next inning,
Brooklyn Botts led off with a solo home run to give Dodge City their only run of the day.
Lamar then scored one run in the fourth inning then added two more in the fifth inning to run-rule the Conqs for the second time of the day.Â
Dodge City is now 7-5 on the year and remain at 2-0 in KJCCC play. They will be in action again tomorrow as they host Colby Community College at 1 and 3 p.m.
