Two Comebacks Helps Conqs Sweep Frank Phillips

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 BORGER, Texas - Coming from behind in both games, the Conquistadors were able to sweep Frank Phillips College over the weekend as they won by scores of 19-10 (6 Innings) and 13-5 (5 Innings).

Dodge City was able to keep things going after they split on Saturday with Western Texas College, winning game one, 8-6 before falling in game two, 16-2 (5 Innings).

On Saturday, Brittney Gonzalez continued her hot start to the season as they collected a home run, triple double and six stolen bases in two games. 

The Conqs then drove to Frank Phillips College where they fell behind early, 8-1. The Conqs then found the hot bats and were able to find a way to come back and defeat Frank Phillips in game one, 19-10 in six innings.

In game two, Frank Phillips jumped out to another early 4-0 lead, but the Conqs were able to stay positive and score nine runs in the fourth inning and add four more in the fifth inning to win the game in five innings, 13-5.

The Conquistadors are now 5-3 overall on the year and will start KJCCC play on Wednesday as they travel to Pratt Community College for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
