Unfortunately, the Eagles were able to get within one on a goal in the 70th minute. In the 90th minute of the game, Southwest Christian added one more goal to tie the game at two, which is how the game would end.
"We let our guard down and it cost us the tie," head coach
Oscar Zelaya said. "We can obviously dwell on it and think of what would have have done differently, but the game is over now. We will shift our focus to Thursday as we play Northern Oklahoma."
The Conqs are now 1-0-1 on the year and will be in action again on Thursday, Aug. 31, as they continue on the road at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa at 3 p.m.
