DODGE CITY, Kan. -- Following a one-week delay, the Dodge City Community College softball team will take the field for the first time in nearly two weeks to open up the 2017 NJCAA Region VI Softball Championships on Friday, May 5th at 1 p.m against Colby Community College.

CONQUISTADORS VS. TROJANS
- Dodge City, the fifth seed, went 1-3 against Colby, the fourth seed, this season - DC3 split with Colby at Colby (lost 6-3 before winning 12-4) on April 3 while Colby won both games in Dodge City (8-3, 9-5) on April 23.
- The winner of this game will take on top-seeded Butler 1 p.m. Wednesday (

- The Conqs ran into a buzz saw the final two weeks of the season, dropping their final six games of the year after having won five in a row to head into the final stretch.Â

Adreanna Guerrero in the four games against Colby this season is 6-for-12 (.500) with  three RBI. On the season Guerrerro is hitting .355 with three doubles, one triple, and 29 RBI (third-highest on team).

Brittney Gonzalez leads the Conqs at the plate in average (.445), on-base percentage (.497), hits (57), runs scored (51), walks (13), and stolen bases (26). Her 51 runs are third on the DC3 single-season all-time list while her 26 stolen bases is the second-most in single-season school history behind only Bre Huff (36, 2003).

Individual Stats
- Colby has won four of their past six games, including the season finale against Dodge City. Since April 1, the Trojans sport a 12-6 record.Â
- Trojan starting pitcher Kylee Burnside has picked up all three wins in the circle for Colby this season, throwing a total of 131.0 innings this year and going 14-8 overall. With a 3.53 ERA, Burnside has struck out 150 batters while giving up a total of 11 home runs.Â
- Freshman Kaitlynn Withers is hitting .488 this season with a team-high 81 hits and 62 stolen bases. The 62 stolen bases leads all KJCCC Division I players this spring.Â
