Box Score EL DORADO, Kan. – The Conquistador volleyball team fell to Butler on Wednesday night in three sets by scores of 25-13, 25-18 and 25-15.
 
Dodge City fell behind early, having to call a timeout down, 8-3. After the timeout, the Conqs went on a 5-0 run to tie the game at eight. Both teams then traded points until DC3 took an 11-10 lead forcing the Grizzlies to call their first timeout.
 
Butler then went on a 4-0 run of their own, to take a 14-11 lead. Dodge City was forced to call a timeout down 17-13 and the Grizzlies scored the next seven points to extend their lead to 24-13. After a long rally, a kill by Butler gave the Grizzlies a 25-13 win in set one.
 
Butler stayed hot in set two, scoring the first four points of the set and eventually taking a 12-6 lead before Dodge City called their first timeout. The Grizzlies were able to extend their lead to 17-9 before the Conquistadors had to call their second timeout. The Conqs were able to cut the lead to 22-17, but Butler finished on a 3-1 run to win set two, 25-18.
 
Again in set three, Dodge City fell behind early, with Butler taking a 6-2 lead. Butler then went on a 5-3 run to extend their lead to 11-5 making Dodge City call their first timeout. The Conquistadors were able to cut the lead to seven late in the set, but fired right back, winning set three, 25-15
 
The Conqs are now 16-11 on the year and will be in action again on Friday as they travel to Garden City at 6:30 p.m.
