Dodge City volleyball checks in for the third straight week in the NJCAA Division I national rankings as they slip four spots to #14 in the latest rankings. 
 
The Conquistadors are 16-5 this season and 5-1 in KJCCC action after a 2-1 week on the court. The 16 wins match last season's total, with 10 regular-season games remaining. 
 
Three other KJCCC schools are ranked in the NJCAA DI top 20 alongside the Conqs: Colby at #7, Barton at #18, and Hutchinson at #20. 
 
This season, the Conqs are averaging 11.03 kills per set while hitting .211, ranking second in the KJCCC, plus 10.27 assists per set and 13.09 digs per set. The Conqs serving has been strong as they lead the KJCCC with 154 service aces, while the Conqs defense has been stout at the net as they also lead the KJCCC in blocks and blocks per set. Conqs are averaging 2.46 blocks per set, amassing 185 total blocks this season, which is 53 more than the second most in the KJCCC. 
 
Conqs opened the season 3-1 at the Reiver Classic in Council Bluffs, Iowa, winning the final two matches of the tournament, then went on to win the next five for a seven-game win streak. During the streak, the Conqs beat Pratt and Butler at home and won three home contests at the Victory Electric Classic. Conqs took on some tough competition at the Magic City Invitational in Miami, Florida, going just 1-3 but responded by beating Garden City and then going 4-0 at the New Mexico JC Tournament. Last week the Conqs beat #16 Barton on the road, fell at home in five against Hutchinson, and then topped Seward County on the road. 
 
This week wraps up the first round of conference matchups as the Conqs take on Cloud County in Concordia on Wednesday, September 23^rd, and then will host #7 Colby on Saturday, September 26^th.
