Box Score PARSONS, Kan. - The Dodge City Community College volleyball team narrowly missed out on the sweep, but were able to come away with a four-set (25-20, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16) victory over Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas on Monday, August 29th.
DC3 is now 2-3 on the season while Cardinals are 1-3 overall.
The Conquistadors were led in the match by sophomore
Sada Smith, who finished with nine kills and added two service aces.
Tenille Tholen led the team in digs with 10 in addition to three service aces while
Briana Brown had a team-high 17 assists.
Daisy Cheek added on 13 assists to go along with eight digs.
"We were a little slow to get started tonight" said head coach
Kamri Nehls in a post-game interview. "We got complacent at times, but we worked hard as a team and pulled out the win in the end."
The KJCCC opener which serves as the home opener awaits the Conquistadors on Wednesday night as rival Barton County comes to the DC3 Gymnasium for a 6:30 p.m. first serve match. Barton enters the contest 6-0 overall and won last year's match in Dodge City in four sets.
