NOTES: DC3 softball looks to keep bats hot versus Pratt on Thursday

DC3's Candace Bollig leads the Conqs in several hitting categories heading into Thursday's doubleheader against Pratt in Dodge City.
DODGE CITY, Kan. -- The Dodge City Community College softball team looks to build off of its 29-run, 33-hit performance in sweeping a doubleheader from Garden City on Saturday when the Conquistadors host Pratt 2 p.m. Thursday at Legend Park.


DC3 BREAKDOWN (12-10 overall, 4-4 KJCCC)

AVG: .313 (14th in KJCCC) | OBP: .371 (16th) | SB: 34 (12th) | ERA: 3.59 (7th) | OPP AVG: .334 (10th)
Individual Stats

- In the second game of the DC3 sweep of Garden City, the Conqs set seasons highs for runs (17) and hits (20). Ten players collected a hit in the second game including four with three hits (Marina Kelly, Kim Herron, Kayla Frazier and Kaylie Schoendaller).

- Schoendaller hit her second home run of the season in that second game, second on the team to Candace Bollig's four.

- The Conqs stole 11 bases against Garden City, stealing a season-high six in the first game and swiping five bags in game two.

- Bollig leads the team in average (.391), on-base percentage (.488), slugging (.739), home runs (4), doubles (8), RBI (20), runs (25) and stolen bases (8).

- In the Conqs' eight conference games, Taylor Menard leads the team with a .400 average (10-for-25).

- Kim Herron continues to pace DC3 in the circle as she is 7-5 with a 2.46 ERA (11th in the KJCCC) and 45 strikeouts in 71 innings of work (12th in the KJCCC). Lindsey Lemmon has also been solid in the circle as she is 3-3 with a 3.47 ERA in 44.1 innings of work.

Individual Stats

- Pratt has been off since March 16 when it swept a non-KJCCC doubleheader at home against Williston State College (13-10, 8-6).

- The Beavers haven't played a KJCCC contests since March 11 when it dropped a doubleheader at Colby, 5-1 and 8-0. Pratt has lost four straight KJCCC contests (also lost two to Butler on March 9, 9-3 and 7-0). Its two KJCCC wins came over Garden City on March 2 on the road, 12-8 and 10-8.


- Kendra Houston has been the team's top offensive threat, leading the team in batting average (.382), runs (7) and home runs (4) while tied for the team lead with seven doubles and four stolen bases.

- Bailey Young (3-6, 6.39 ERA, 46 innings), Bailey Howarah (2-4, 5.52 ERA, 33 innings) and Emily Lucas (3-2, 4.86 ERA, 31.2 innings) have shared the majority of the Beavers' innings in the circle this season.
