DC3's Elyssia Lucio (Angelo State), left, and Kristina Trinceri (Minnesota State-Mankato), right, signed letter of intents Wednesday in front of coach Tim Romanello to continue their soccer careers at four-year schools.
DODGE CITY, Kan. -- Two women's and two men's Dodge City Community College soccer players signed national letter of intents Wednesday to play at four-year schools next school year.

Goalkeeper Elyssia Lucio (Angelo State) and midfielder/forward Kristina Trinceri (Minnesota State-Mankato) signed from the DC3 women's team while midfielder Duran Lee (Connecticut) and midfielder/forward Shawn Watson (Northeastern State University) signed from the men's team.

Lucio, an Oceanside, California, native, was a KJCCC Honorable Mention goalkeeper this season after allowing 2.15 goals per game this season while playing keeper for the Conquistadors in all 17 games and all but 25 minutes. She posted three shutouts and had 76 saves with a save percentage of 67.9 percent.

"Angelo State is getting a good player in Elyssia," DC3 soccer coach Tim Romanello said. "Her ability to make adjustments and improve game-to-game, year-to-year, has been nothing short of fantastic here at Dodge City. Her talent kept us in many, many games, and I expect that to continue at Angelo State. This opportunity is well-deserved and she will continue to flourish, and I'm proud of her. She will always be a part of the family here."

Trinceri, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was named Second-Team KJCCC after scoring nine goals and adding a team-high seven assists.

"Kristina is going to be a terrific addition to Minnesota State University-Mankato," Romanello said. "Kristina is blessed with all the assets to be successful on a high level, and she was nothing short of brilliant here. She's more than ready to take her playing career and academic endeavors to a higher level. I'm very excited and proud to have been a part of her development and part of this family."

On the men's side, Lee - from Brampton, Ontario, Canada - scored three goals and had a team-high six assists this season for the Conquistadors.

"I'm extremely happy that Duran will be able to realize his dream," Romanello said. "The opportunity to play at the next level, the highest level, is going to be a great experience."

Watson - from Ontario, Canada - finished with three goals and three assists for the Conqs this season.

"Shawn's commitment today is well-deserved," Romanello said. "Northeastern State University is getting a very creative, skillful player. He's been great for this program and I'm looking forward to watching him succeed at the next level. I'm proud of him and this opportunity he now has."
