Dodge City women's soccer capped the regular season by battling the elements and another tough KJCCC opponent, taking on Butler in El Dorado.
The Conquistadors fell in the regular season finale 3-0 to Butler, sending them to 6-10 on the season and 4-10 in KJCCC action.
After a little over an hour weather delay, both teams battled through wet weather throughout the contest. The Conqs would fall behind early, conceding a goal in the eighth minute, but would hold Butler off the scoreboard otherwise the rest of the first half, trailing just 1-0 at intermission. In the second half, the Grizzlies of Butler continued to control possession and the game as they tallied two more goals leading to a 3-0 final.
The Conqs in the loss were outshot 20-3, getting a pair of shots on goal by
Kenza Daher-Hassan and a shot on goal by
Layla Moreno Cantalejo.
With the conclusion of the regular season, the Conqs turn their attention to postseason play, looking to challenge and make a push as they will travel to Hutchinson on Saturday, November 1st, for the first round of the NJCAA Division I Plains District playoffs with a 4:00 pm kick.
