DODGE CITY, Kan. -- The Dodge City Community College baseball program has a busy alumni weekend planned Friday and Saturday, highlighted by the Conquistadors receiving their 2015 Region VI championship rings Saturday during the DC3 men's basketball game at the Dodge City Civic Center.
The Conquistadors will be honored at halftime of the men's basketball game against Barton 3 p.m. Saturday and receive their championship rings after going 42-20 last season (breaking the school record for wins by eight games), winning the Region VI championship and competing at the JUCO World Series for the second time in the program's history - the first time since 1958.
It's part of an alumni weekend that includes a get together at coach
Phil Stephenson's house 7 p.m. Friday, dinner 6 p.m. Saturday at Central Station with current players and alumni and an 8 p.m. Alumni Social at Western Beverage Banquet Hall.
DC3 opens its 2016 season Feb. 16 at home against the Oklahoma Panhandle State University junior varsity 2 p.m. at Cavalier Field.
