Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SALINA, Kansas:  DC3 baseball took the dirt yesterday, intent on serving up two losses to Brown Mackie in a revenge plot posted after the Lions came to Dodge City and took one from the Conqs in March.  Dodge City did just that and more as they took game one 8-1 and game two 8-0 in a seven-inning shutout.

In game one, Dc3 plastered seven runs on the board after posting three in the first inning and four in the second for the early commanding lead.  They tabbed another in the fifth inning to go up 8-0.  In the bottom of the seventh, Brown Mackie attempted to work back to stay in the game, succeeding in garnering one run before the Conqs were able to shut the home team down.

Frankie Valle, fueled off last week's performance, continued his success at the plate with a 3-4 performance.  The second baseman tabbed a double, one RBI and two runs in the game as well.
Leno Ramirez led the team with three RBIs after going 2-3 with a walk and a homerun at the plate.  He touched home twice in the game.

Ricky Trammell and Hayden Simmons each also went 2-4 for the Conqs with Simmons owning one RBI on a homerun and one run.  Johnny Balsamo went 1-2 with two walks and two runs and Jason Nichols tabbed two RBIs on a hit in the game.  Colbey Madewell also tallied a hit during the contest.

Matthew Perea picks up the win after chucking 2.0 innings.  He scattered two hits and three strikeouts after facing eight batters on the day.  Corey Land and Adam Rutz worked the middle of the game, each for 2.0 innings apiece.  Land fanned one during his six batters while Ruts shut down three on strikeouts while facing only six batters.  Phillip Albracht closed up the game for DC3, allowing one unearned run and two hits in his 1.0 inning pitched.  He faced six batters also.

Dodge City came out of the gate big in the second game, owning six runs in the first inning alone.  They tallied one more run in each the fourth and seventh innings for their 8-0 shutout victory.

Simmons, Valle and Dom Francia all collected two hits in the game with Valle tabbing another double and a walk and Francia also owning one RBI for the Conqs.

Ramirez went 1-3 in the game with two RBIs and a double against Brown Mackie.  Coming back from an injury in March, Merle Trueblood also tabbed two RBIs off a 1-3 performance at the plate.

Josh Williams, Hayden Hutchison and Max Laney also tabbed hits in the game with Laney owning a stolen base after the fact, along with two walks in the game.  Tim Wakefield was good for one RBI in the game as well.

Austin Hammer picked up the win after starting the game.  He was good for two strikeouts in 2.0 innings pitched and refused to give up a run or a hit.  Garrett Hammond and Cory Royer worked the Brown Mackie offensive next with Hammond tabbing two strikeouts and giving up two hits and Royer allowing one hit.  Both Hammond and Royer were in for 2.0 innings apiece.  Anthony Bowmaker closed up shop in the seventh, fanning one and allowing one hit to BMC, but keeping the Lions from touching home.

The DC3 pitching staff tabbed their fourth shutout of the season as a result.  They only gave up four hits in each game for eight hits to Brown Mackie on the day.

Next, DC3 baseball returns home this Saturday and Sunday, April 11 and 12 to take on Garden City at 1:05 and 3:05 p.m. at Cavalier Field.
