Box Score 2 EL DORADO, Kansas: Dodge City Community College softball dropped the final regular season doubleheader against Butler Community College yesterday in El Dorado, Kansas. The Conqs fell 10-2 before attempting a comeback in game two, but eventually dropping 5-4 to close the regular season.
The Conqs finish out the 2015 regular season 22-20 overall and 9-15 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
In game one, Butler piled on four runs in the first and three in each the second and third, while the Conqs posted one run in the second for a Grizzlies 10-1 advantage. DC3 crossed another run in the top of the fifth inning in a last attempt to keep the game alive, but were shut down by BCC for the five-inning 10-2 loss.
Jordan Mecham (12-8) picked up the loss after giving up four earned runs on four hits and facing seven batters in the first inning.
Lauren Kelley then came in to pitch the rest of the 3.1 innings, facing 21 batters and giving up four earned runs on 10 hits.

Kaitlyn Amaral,
Shelby Bowman and
Ashley Beavers each had hits in the game with Bowman tabbing an RBI on a solo-homerun and Amaral owning the second RBI. Amaral also had three putouts and three assists from the hot corner for the Conqs' defense.
Butler went up first in game two as well, tabbing one run in the first, two in the third and one apiece in the fourth and fifth to go up 5-0 over the Conqs heading into the sixth inning.
In a big offensive effort, DC3 posted four runs in the top of the sixth to close the gap. Karlin started things off with a walk and moved to second on a groundout.
Taryn Garza then singled up the middle to score Karlin and scored herself on a double down the right field line by
Danielle Aldana. Bowman, who had walked before Aldan's double, scored on a fielder's choice option by
Chantal Prester, leaving runners at first and third. Aldana scored on a wild pitch before the Grizzlies made the final two outs to end the inning.
Down by one in the top of the seventh, Karlin reached first after being hit by a pitch and Amaral walked to put runners on the corners. Then, Butler managed to close down the rest of the Conquistador offensive for the 5-4 victory.
Mia Trujillo dropped her record to 4-4 after allowing five earned runs on five hits. She faced 27 batters on the day and stuck out two in the effort.
Garza and Aldana tabbed lone RBIs and hits in the game while Bowman also tabbed on another hit for the season. Prester owned four putouts and one assist from second base and Beavers owned five putouts from centerfield.
