Box Score 2 DODGE CITY, Kansas: DC3 softball collected 17 hits throughout two games today; propelling the Conqs to two big KJCCC wins at home. The Conqs tabbed a 6-2 win in game one and 11-5 win in game two to record the W's.
DC3 capitalized on choice Trojan errors and were successful in stringing hits together to tab four runs in the first five innings. Colby crossed their only two run in the top of the sixth before Dodge answered with two more in the bottom of the fram for the four-run win.
Taryn Garza went 2-4 with a double and two RBIs. She had two putouts and four assists in the field.
Danielle Aldana had two hits in three at bats with one RBI. She had nine putouts on the day.
Lindsey Karlin tabbed a homerun to score two and walked once to keep her on-base percentage stellar.
Jordan Mecham collected her 12
th victory after slinging a complete seven-innings. She fanned three and allowed one earned run in the game.
In game two, Colby came out swinging and tabbed four runs to open the first inning. Dodge refused to roll over however as the crossed five in the bottom of the frame and five more in the second to go up 10-4 over the Trojans.
They crossed their 11
th run in the fifth before giving one more up in the seventh for the 11-5 final decision.
Garza tabbed three RBIs on a choice homerun to deep centerfield. Aldana,
Chantal Prester and
Adalynn Tanton each came in clutch with two hits apiece and RBIs.
Shelby Bowman had two RBIs in the game and
Samantha Bashor and
Heather Amen had solo hits and RBIs. Karlin also tabbed another hit in the game.
Lauren Kelley collected the win after pitching six innings. She allowed 10 hits, five runs and two earned runs while striking out two.
Mecham faced a batter to open the seventh in a Conq attempt to shake things up before bringing in
Tristan Rathgeber to close out the final three outs with a strikeout and allowing only one hit.
Next, DC3 will travel to Seward County on Wednesday, April 1 to take on the Saints in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
