Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DODGE CITY, Kansas:  Dodge City softball extended their winning streak to 11 games today after taking two away from Garden City at Legends Park.

DC3 softball advances their record to 17-5 overall and 4-0 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.

The Conqs worked the BroncBusters in the first inning of game one, tabbing nine runs to start the day.  Garden City couldn't seem to catch up to the Conqs all day as DC3 ended with a 9-2 and a 4-3 victory.

After DC3 posted nine runs to start things off, Garden City garnered solo runs of their own in the third and fourth innings to finish out the game.

Shelby Bowman helped the Conq effort in the middle of the inning when she knocked a huge grand slam out past left center for four RBIs in the first inning.

Lindsey Karlin and Danielle Aldana each went 3-4 in the game.  Aldana posted two RBIs and had eight putouts defensively.  Karlin added one RBI and crossed the plate twice.

Ashley Beavers, Courtney Rettig, Chantal Prester and Heather Amen each had hits in the game.

Jordan Mecham earned the win, advancing her record to 10-2 on the season thus far.  In four innings, she allowed two runs on seven hits and fanned one.  Lauren Kelley came in as relief in the fifth inning, allowing two hits and striking out one throughout 11 batters and three innings pitched.

Dodge steadily placed runs on the board throughout the game, collecting one run in the first, two in the second and one in the fourth for four on the day.

Garden gave quite the effort to come back, scoring two runs in the fifth and one in the seventh as a last effort.  Luckily, DC3 shut the Broncbusters down and kept their bats subdued for the 4-3 win in game two.

Shortstop Taryn Garza led the team with a 2-2 performance at the plate.  She also collected two runs in the game and posted three putouts and two assists.

Karlin and Bowman each had hits again in game two while Heather Amen had one hit for two RBIs.  Chantal Prester and Kaitlyn Amaral each had RBIs on the day also.

Mia Trujillo moves her untarnished record to 4-0 after giving up only three runs after eight hits and six innings.  She struck out four after facing 26 batters.

Lauren Kelly snagged her fourth save after giving up only one hit in the seventh and shutting down three in four batter's to close the game.

DC3 plays next on Friday, March 20 at 1 and 3 p.m. when they take on Colby Community College at Legends Park.
