Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: The momentum was heavily in favor of the Conquistador men's basketball side of the court tonight as DC3 paced Friends University JV for a 100-72 victory in just an hour and a half.
The Conqs put up 26 points off turnovers compared to the Falcons 12, 50 from the paint compared to the oppositions 18 and 21 second chance points compared to FUJVs seven.
DC3 shot 39-65 from the field collectively for a 60.0 field goal percentage, 7-17 from the arc for a 41.2 three-point field goal percentage and hit 15-19 from the stripe, collecting a 78.9 free throw percentage.
Payton Pervier had quite a night with 25 points after going 12-14 from the field and a perfect 1-1 from the free throw line. He pulled down nine boards and posted one block on the night as well.
James Newton was good four 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Conqs while going 7-13 from the field and 3-5 from long range.
Three other Conqs posted in double-digit points against the Falcons including
EJ Eaves and
Raheem Watts with 14 points apiece and
George Brock who garnered 13.
Eaves hit 4-5 from field goal range and went 6-8 from the stripe for the Conqs while owning two steals and one assist. Watts put in a 5-7 performance from the field, 1-1 from the arc and 3-5 from the free throw line with one block, two assists, one steal and six boards.
Brock owned seven assists, three steals, one block while hitting four from the field and going 4-4 from the charity stripe.
Dalton Haist garnered nine points and seven boards for the Conqs while
Brett O'Neil helped the cause with five assists, five rebounds and five points on the night.
DC3 will hit the road next Saturday, December 13 at 7 p.m. when they take on North Platte in a rematch from their 70-68 off in late November.
