Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas: The Conquistadors put in a miraculous effort to try and pull out a victory to come out of their losing streak, but were unable to clinch as Seward County grabs the 3-1 victory over DC3. Both the Saints and the Conqs were evenly matched today to play.
The Conqs rallied in the first set and fell 25-22, but made the comeback 25-22 victory in the second set even with the protest by the Saints. As in the third set the Conqs still manage to rally with the Saints as Seward County still took the victory 25-22, but then in the fourth set the Saints sprung out and clinched the victory 25-16 over DC3.
Hailee Hoskinson led the Conquistador offensive with 12 kills and only one error in 33 total attacks with a huge outcome of a .333 attack percentage.
Daisy Cheek collected eight kills with only two errors in 22 total attacks for an outcome of .273 attack percentage. Cheek led the Conqs with 26 assists and owned two service aces.
Emily Slattery put up five service aces with a service percentage of .783 for the day. Slattery added nine kills with six errors with a total attacks of 21 to give her a .143 attack percentage.
As a team, the Conqs posted 44 kills in 132 total attacks which racked up a .205 hitting percentage. DC3 as well added 12 services aces throughout the match.
The Conqs will be on the road next to continue the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference on Monday, October 20
th at 6:30 p.m. where they will take on Barton Community College.
