Dodge City baseball opened the season going 4-0 in opening series of the year as the Conquistadors hosted Dawson for a four-game set. Josh McGuin made an impact for the Conqs as he was 4-9 over the four games recording five RBI, two doubles, a triple, and three walks. Game two of the series he went 2-3 with three RBI, a double, and two runs scored, while in game three of the series he was also 2-3 with two RBI, a double, a triple, and a run scored. Defensively he was strong playing both first base and catcher and in game two he recorded the final out on a spectacular play diving over the railing of the third base dugout to make a catch.Â
