Under the lights again to keep the cross country season rolling, the Dodge City women's cross country team traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to compete at the Rogers State Distance After Dark.
 
The Conquistadors competed against mostly four-year schools in the race, with several NCAA Division II programs competing and the NCAA Division I program Tulsa University. The Conqs raced to a 14^th-place team finish in the second race of the season. 
 
Leading the Conqs on the night was Denae Arellano, who recorded a time of 20:13.1 to finish 69^th out of 170+ runners. 
 
Sarai Rodriguez had the second-best time for the Conqs on the night as she posted a time of 21:56.6, while Jennifer Lamas ran a time of 22:04.1. Kamilla Dombi and LeiAnn Maize were shortly behind their teammate Lamas with times of 22:17.8 and 22:22.6, respectively. Times of 23:03.6 and 23:12.3 were recorded by Kristina Bates and Mia Hegwood, while Karen Vargas Alvarez posted a time of 25:29.8 to finish out the Conq performances. 
 
The season continues quickly for the Conqs, as they are set to race again on Friday, September 11^th, at the Ollis Isom Invite hosted by Butler CC.
