Dodge City women's golf competed against a tough field of NJCAA and NAIA competition at the Battling in the Desert in Hobbs, New Mexico.
The Conquistadors finished eighth with a three-round score of 955 (+91). In the first round, the Conqs posted a 319 (+31) and capped day one with a 12-stroke improvement, shooting a 307 (+19) in the second round. To finish out the tournament, the Conqs shot a 329 (+41) in the third round.
Pacing the Conqs was
Lily Ascott, who tied for 10
th place out of 76 golfers with a 223 (+7). Ascott recorded a pair of 75s on day one, then shot a 73 to finish the tournament.
Deonne Pyatt tied for 25
th place with a 233 (+17), recording rounds of 80, 72, and 81.
Claire Runyan and
Molly Lloyd tied for 45
th place with a score of 250 (+34) each. Runyan posted rounds of 86, 84, and 80, while Lloyd posted rounds of 80, 79, and 91.
Presley Cornejo tied for 47
th with a 251 (+35), shooting rounds of 84, 81, and 86, while Tygh capped the Conq performances by tying for 51
st with a 255 (+39), carding rounds of 85, 81, and 89.
The Conqs will wrap up fall competition on October 12
th-13
th when they compete at the Braves Invitational hosted by Ottawa University at Eaglebend Golf Course in Lawrence, Kansas.
