Former Conq Men's Golfer & Dodge City Native Cooper Scheck Set to Compete at NCAA DII Nationals for FHSU

Dodge City native and former Conquistador men's golfer is making history at Fort Hays State University on the golf course as he became the first men's golfer in program history to reach the final site of competition as he qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships. 
 
Cooper Scheck after earning a third-place finish at the Central/Midwest Regional punched his ticket to nationals for the FHSU Tigers. Scheck a three-time All-MAIA selection over his career at FHSU posted a 214 (-2) to take third at regionals finishing just three shots back of first place.
 
Scheck who spent his freshman season on the Conqs men's golf team in 2022-23 has enjoyed a great senior year at FHSU compiling nine top 12 finishes including six top 10, four top five, and two first place finishes. He has a stroke average of 71.79 over 33 rounds including 19 rounds at-or-under par. 
 
Over the course of his career Scheck has compiled success in many facets. His three-time All-MIAA selection marks the first time a Tiger as earned the recognition three times and is only the second to have earned it multiple times. He was also selected as the Athletic Solutions "A Game" Scholar-Athlete of the 2026 MIAA Men's Golf Championship; an award given to a student-athlete who has contributed to their team's success, while also achieving the highest academic standard among peers. He has maintained a 4.00 GPA throughout his time at FHSU. Last year as a junior he became the first FHSU player to earn PING all region honors picking up PING All-Central Region recognition. 
 
Scheck will compete at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada for the 2026 NCAA DII Championships from May 18th-20th.
