Dodge City men's golf hit the links in Manhattan, Kansas, at Colbert Hills Golf Course for the NJCAA Region 6 Championship competition and finished third overall as a team.
The Conquistadors posted a three-round team score of 947 (+83) posting a 327 score in the first round but responded with rounds of 309 and 311 in the second and third rounds.
Once again, this spring, the play of
Lucas Kuiper paced the Conqs as he finished tied for third with a 225 (+9) score. He opened the tournament shooting a 77 and then posted back-to-back two over rounds of 74 to finish the tournament.
Prakrit Jumpla has one of his best performances as a Conq, finishing tied for 10th after shooting a 238 for the tournament with rounds of 79, 82, and 77.
Drew Heinz was right behind his teammate with a 240 to place 13th, carding rounds of 81, 80, and 79.
Blake Strong got progressively better of the tournament with rounds of 86, 79, and 76 to finish tied for 14th with a 241.
Panyapat Khantiyoo finished 16th with a 242 as he posted rounds of 84, 76, and 82.
Jacob Egan finished in 25th place with a 254 after shooting rounds of 88, 82, and 84, while
Aidan Robinson placed 27th with a 257, notching rounds of 85, 83, and 89.
Conqs are set to travel to Springfield, Missouri, on April 27th-28th to compete at the NJCAA Central District Championship as they look to contend for a spot at the national championship tournament.
