Dodge City men's golf put together a strong outing at an NCAA Division II event in Pueblo, Colorado, hosted by CSU-Pueblo, as they placed eighth at the Sam Proal Invitational.
The Conquistadors were one of only two NJCAA schools competing in a field of 18 teams that was primarily made up of NCAA Division II teams and placed eighth as a team with a three-round score of 875 (+23). In the first round, the Conqs posted a team score of 293 and capped the tournament in round three with the same score. Meanwhile, in the second round, the Conqs achieved their best team round with a score of 289.
Conqs newcomer,
Lucas Kuiper, led the Conq performances as he finished tied for 22nd with a score of 217 (+4); the tournament featured 102 golfers. Kuiper posted rounds of 76, 70, and 71.
A score of 222 was posted by
Prakrit Jumpla, who tied for 45th, carding rounds of 74, 72, and 76. Both
Drew Heinz and
Panyapat Khantiyoo shot 223 for the tournament to tie for 50th place. Heinz tallied rounds of 72, 78, and 73, while Khantiyoo notched rounds of 77, 73, and 73.
Aidan Robinson finished tied for 54th with a score of 225 with rounds of 73, 75, and 77.
Blake Strong capped the Conq performances, finishing 97th with a score of 240 behind rounds of 78, 79, and 83.
Conqs now gear up for the KJCCC Championship on April 12th-13th, which will take place in Newton at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
